Oregon’s uniforms aren’t exactly what you’d expect (PHOTOS)

Pictures of Oregon's new uniforms have leaked on Nikeblog.com and they are… surprisingly tame.

After years of walking a fine line between innovation and tackiness, Oregon is throwing everyone a curveball this year and going with the subdued look.

The only place where you'll see flash for the Ducks this year — other than when D'Anthony Thomas touches the ball — is in the helmets, which are a reintroduction of the chrome domes the Ducks wore during the Rose Bowl last year.

The silver lids are back, but the Ducks also have introduced a green one that I think is the bee's knees. I'm a big fan of the chrome helmets in general. I love the fact that the opponent can see himself lagging behind as an Oregon player runs past him.

As for the jerseys, well, they're basic. Green, yellow and black with duck feathers on the shoulders. I'm sure there's some fancy-schmancy Nike technology at work here, but as far as aesthetics, the uniforms are just OK.

But perhaps since Oregon is the trendsetter in uniforms, it's making simple the new fancy. Take that Notre Dame!
