Girl cast as young Angelina Jolie has more in common than looks

Eighteen-year-old India Eisley, pictured left, has been cast to play a young Angelina Jolie in the upcoming Disney film "Maleficent."

Best known for her role as the loving-but-sarcastic Ashley Juergens on ABC Family's teen drama "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," Eisley has more in common with Jolie than just looks. For one, her character on "Secret Life" speaks in a low, monotone voice -- sound familiar?

It gets better.

Comparing Eisley to a photo of Angelina Jolie when she was the same age -- 18 years old -- reveals some uncanny physical similarities: straight brown hair, full rosy lips, gorgeously pale skin, defined eyebrows and even similar cheekbones.

And if all of these similarities weren't enough, Eisley, like Jolie, comes from a famous acting, Oscar-caliber parent. Her mother is Argentine actress Olivia Hussey, most famous for her role in the Oscar-winning 1968 movie version of "Romeo and Juliet," directed by Franco Zeffirelli.

In 2005, both mother and daughter appeared in the horror film "Headspace" together. Eisley then took parts in smaller films before she was cast in "Secret Life" in 2008. She also just appeared in a small role in "Underworld: Awakening," with Kate Beckinsale, earlier this year.

Eisley's father is musician and actor David Glen Eisley, who had a hit single in the mid-'80s with his band Guiffria called "Call to the Heart."

Disney's live-action "Maleficent" (due out in theaters March 14, 2014) is a version of the story of "Sleeping Beauty." It instead focuses on the life of the princess' nemesis Maleficent, and why she was led to cast an evil spell.

One more fun fact: Jolie, now 36, was the same age as Eisley is now when Eisley was born 1n 1993 -- 18.

Say that three times in a row!
