Mary-Kate Olsen Is Dating Nicolas Sarkozy’s Brother: Reports

Mary-Kate Olsen has a new man in her life — and he comes from a very famous family! The child-star-turned-fashion-mogul is dating the brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, according to reports.

The New York Post broke the news that Olsen, 25, and Olivier Sarkozy, 42, have quietly been seeing each other for the last month. The couple took their romance public over Memorial Day weekend when they spent time together in the Hamptons. They're "head over heels," a source told the paper.

An Olsen insider confirmed the pairing to Us Weekly, saying: "It's true, they're dating, and she's definitely interested in him." As for the 17-year age gap between the two, "MK is constantly complaining about boys not being mature enough for her. She got the kids out of her system. Now being a businesswoman dominates her time, and she is rarely impressed with guys." A second source confirmed the new relationship to the celebrity magazine, noting: ""They are good for each other."

So who is Olivier Sarkozy, other than the younger, half-brother of Nicolas and brother-in-law of Nicolas' singer/actress/model wife Carla Bruni? For one, he's a businessman. Olivier is an asset manager in the financial industry whose official job title is managing director and head of The Carlyle Group's Global Financial Services Group. Earlier this month he was also elected to Butterfield Bank's board of directors. He received his masters in medieval history from St. Andrew's University in Scotland, then started working in the United States. Olivier, who has dual American and French citizenship, is currently based in New York City.

Olivier, who sometimes goes by Oliver and whose official work bio lists his name as "P. Olivier Sarkozy," was previous married to Charlotte Sarkozy, a children's-book author and freelance fashion writer. They tied the knot in Nantucket in October 1997 and then two months later held another wedding in France, officiated by Nicholas. (Olivier and Nicholas, who share a father, didn't grow up together but became friends as adults.) In 2010, the couple, who have two children, faced off in a New York City divorce court over the division of their multimillion-dollar marital estate, which included an $11 million Upper East Side town house and modern-art paintings. Their divorce was finalized in March 2011 and details of the settlement were sealed.

After his marriage ended, Olivier dated actress Stella Schnabel for over a year, but they ended their relationship in March.

As for Olsen's dating history, she was in a relationship with New York artist Nate Lowman for two years before calling it quits in 2010. She was also linked to Heath Ledger prior to his death in 2008.
