Jimmy Fallon's version of 'Call Me Maybe' a viral video hit

Talk show host Jimmy Fallon’s viral rendition of Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song “Call Me Maybe” using kindergarten instruments is giving new meaning to “old school.”

The joyful video, in which the host of NBC's "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" has a backstage jam session with his house band The Roots and Jepsen herself, has gained almost 2 million views online. The group does their own quirky version of the song using a toy xylophone, ukulele, bongos, triangle, and kazoo.

Fallon is famous for doing musical performances with his guests. In April, he did “Slow Jamming the News” with President Obama, and has performed with Justin Timberlake.  He also has a recurring Neil Young impression.

The infectious song is garnering a large list of lip-synchers, including the Harvard baseball team, Miami Dolphins cheerleaders, Miss USA contestants (featuring Donald Trump), and Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. Bieber’s version has gotten more than 41 million views on YouTube.
