Marek Hamsik let his teammates shave off his ridiculous hair after winning the Coppa Italia

Napoli beat Juventus 2-0 in the Coppa Italia final to spoil the end of Juve's undefeated season and finish Alessandro Del Piero's Bianconeri career on a sour note. For Napoli's Marek Hamsik, who sealed the win by scoring the second goal in the 83rd minute, it was also an end of sorts as he lived up to a promise he made about his trademark, powerful and robust mohawk.

From Football Italia:

He had pledged to chop off his 'crest' if Napoli won the trophy, so was scalped in the locker room after beating Juventus 2-0.

"Paolo Cannavaro and Christian Maggio cut my crest off. It was a promise I kept," smiled the midfielder.

He had done a similar thing when Slovakia qualified for the World Cup in 2010.

So it seems getting the chance to cut off Marek Hamsik's hair is a successful motivational tool for his teammates. Perhaps the ginger-bearded Andre Villas-Boas should have tried this while he was still at Chelsea.
