For the past few weeks, comedian Jerry Seinfeld has filled his Twitter feed with a series of cryptic tweets, showing him filming scenes with Alec Baldwin, Ricky Gervais and on Monday, Larry David. Seinfeld also shared photos of himself in a DeLorean, he and Gervais in an Austin-Healy, and this, a 1952 Volkswagen Beetle with the Cal Look split window in pristine condition, unlike Larry David's sneakers. What is up with that?

We've reached out to Seinfeld's spokesman, who so far has revealed little about what he's doing in front of the cameras. Given the age of the cars and the breadth of the people involved, it's not likely some kind of new commercial and Seinfeld isn't attached to any TV shows at the moment.

What we do know is that Seinfeld is one of the premier collectors of Porsches in America; not just the flashy road cars, but highly sought-after race winners from LeMans and elsewhere around the world. This clip from a 2009 Porsche documentary shows the depth of Seinfeld's auto enthusiasm; if this new project explores those passions, we'll be most anxious to see the results -- even if it's just him and a few friends roadtripping to Branson.
