It's no secret that Michelle Phan is quite the YouTube sensation. With nearly 2 million fans and 500 million video views, this 24-year-old boasts more subscribers than world famous celebrities like Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.

So, it comes as no surprise that this Internet beauty guru recently collaborated with Lancôme. The result? A stunning, highly pigmented shadow palette!

Michelle's Glamour Eyes kit is exclusively available at Sephora stores and online for a limited time. It includes the Chic by Chelle palette, Artliner, and Hypnôse Drama Mascara.

Though the set is priced at a hefty $59.50, it's actually somewhat of a steal. If you were to purchase each product separately, the total would be $96 (Yes, I did the math. Eek!). The shadow palette alone retails for $48! There's no doubt that this look could be recreated on the cheap, but if you're looking for lasting power, the splurge is worth it.

The palette includes a nude base coat, purple lid color, hazelnut crease color, silver highlighter, and dark grey liner. This pocket sized set provides everything you need to make your eyes look enchanting with your favorite little black dress. The glimmering highlighter gives you just the right amount of shine for a glam evening out. No, you won't look like an overexcited teen on prom night.

These silky hues last and last. And the liquid liner's brush is pencil-sharp and thin, making application a breeze. Meanwhile, the mascara's curved brush is lash-lengthening but doesn't create clumps. Even better, these products stay put all night. No dreaded raccoon eyes to speak of!

The only issue I had was with the versatility factor. Since the lid color is a rich purple, women might find it impossible to wear outside of a fancy restaurant or office party. On Sephora's YouTube channel, Michelle attempts to create three different looks using the palette. Unfortunately, this only proves the product's lack of versatility. When she demonstrated the natural look, it almost seemed that she had been attacked in bar brawl. Her last Diva look was clownish and entirely overdone. If you don't have time to sit through the video, picture this: bursts of purple. Attention grabbing, yes. But not in a good way! And if Michelle can't pull it off, how is someone like me expected to?

You're better off skipping the first video and taking a stab at it on your own. But the second is great for gals with a bit of time on their hands and a huge impression to make. Watch the video at BettyConfidential.com .

You might just want to watch the video twice before actually trying it, since there are quite a few steps. Also, it was a bit disappointing to notice that I couldn't recreate that look without purchasing an additional silver eyeliner and cosmetic glitter. Aren't we already dropping enough dough on the original kit?

Overall, this is a great treat for women who love that regal purple color and lots of shine. But do yourself a favor and skip Michelle's first video. She's recorded infinitely better ones in the past if you need a bit of professional guidance. Check out her page to begin your immersion into the world of beauty products.

Betty tip: use your fierce new look to get your beau to take you somewhere special on date night. Hope we'll see you out and about!
