Viral video father-son duo make ‘Avengers’ premiere

One young fanboy and his military dad got to walk the red carpet for a recent premiere of "Marvel's The Avengers."

But that's not where the story ends.

Disney caught wind of the father-son duo when a video of the two reuniting—both dressed as Captain America—went viral. You see, real life captain, Captain Kevin Camarata, wanted to return from Afghanistan in time for his son's birthday. He missed it by a few days, but made it up to him by sticking to the original plan: dressing as the Avengers character his son holds most dear.

Captain Camarata arrived dressed in disguise as Captain America, fooling his young son—who, by the way, was also dressed in costume. The ultra-heart-warming reunion was filmed, posted on welcomehomeblog.com, and hundreds of thousands of video views ensued. "This was incredible... When we put the video on the Internet nothing like this was even considered," Camarata said as he walked the carpet on Saturday in New York (as part of the Tribeca Film Festival).

The event also paid homage to other "everyday heroes," inviting members of the NYPD, NYFD, and other military service men and women to the premiere.
