Texas polygamist sect moms and dads required to take parenting classes

When the parents in the Texas-based Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FDLS) sect were reunited with their children back in May/early June, they made a deal with the state. In order to get their kids back, they had to take mandatory parenting classes.

The goal? To teach the parents "about Texas laws regarding marriage, bigamy and other legal issues." According to this story, the classes will consist of two four-hour sessions.

No word on what will happen should the parents chose not to take the class, especially since it's still unclear if the children were removed from their families without warrant. And the classes will likely take a long time to complete since these families are scattered throughout the state.

Here's what I want to know: Do you think parenting classes will help these folks? Or will they go through the motions just to get on with their lives within the sect?
