Brad Miller says he's retiring – to hunt ducks
Minnesota Timberwolves center Brad Miller plans to go from shooting baskets to shooting ducks after this season.
Miller told Yahoo! Sports he will retire after this season to concentrate on his Sportsman Channel television show "Country Boys Outdoors." The 14-year NBA veteran has averaged 11.3 points and 7.2 rebounds with one All-Star appearance during his career while playing for the Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets and Timberwolves.
Miller, 35, has appeared in only seven games this season. The Timberwolves hold a $5.1 million team option for Miller next season.
"For anyone that is listening, I'm going to retire after this season," Miller said prior to the T'wolves game at Golden State on Monday night. "It's time to concentrate on 'Country Boys.' I'm done."
In "Country Boys Outdoors," Miller and his long-time friend Jon Brunson travel the world while big-game hunting. "Country Boys Outdoors" was selected best new series at the 2009 Sportsman Choice Awards.
