Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Choose Date Night Over the Grammys

When you're the reigning prince and princess of teen pop music, do you really need to be bothered with a little thing like the Grammy Awards? For Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, the answer is no. The cute couple skipped music's biggest night and decided to grab dinner at Chanpen Thai Cuisine in New York City instead.

The pair, who was noticeably absent from the Grammys ceremony on Sunday, still made their presence known by tweeting supportive messages to their friends, with Justin saying, "@officialAdele, well done," and "congrats to all the winner's tonight. Glad to see friends of mine doing there thing. Next year we are coming with #BELIEVE."

While the "Baby" singer apparently already has big plans to debut his upcoming album, Believe, at next year's Grammy show, his main squeeze Selena is making big music headlines of her own. The 19-year-old starlet recently announced via Twitter that she is splitting with her band The Scene in order to focus on her acting career.

Another Hollywood power couple who opted out of this year's awards show in favor of date night was Beyonce and Jay-Z. The new parents left their baby daughter Blue Ivy at home and were spotted snacking on slices at their favorite pizzeria in Brooklyn -- Lucali. Though Jay and Kanye West won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance for "Otis" from their album Watch the Throne, neither rapper was present to accept the trophy. Sometimes it's all about the simple things in life -- like a piece of pizza.
