Coronation Street's Marc Anwar sacked following a series of vile racist tweets

Coronation Street bosses have sacked Marc Anwar, who plays Sharif Nazir, following a tirade of offensive messages that he posted on his Twitter page.

The actor shocked his followers when he took to the social media site to post vile, racist tweets that dubbed Indians “b*stards” and “p*ss-drinking c*nts”.

Marc is a Pakistan-born actor and referred to Indians as “killers” and argued that those from Pakistan should refuse to work in India.

He tweeted: “Why the f*ck do #PakistaniArtists want to work in f*ck face India, do you love money so much?

“Ban India movies in Pakistan #PakistanisLeaveIndia p*ss-drinking c*nts. [sic]”

Marc went on to blast Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who have clashed over the territory of Kashmir, adding: “F*cking Indians killing our Kashmir brother and sister, beygairth Nawaz Sharif still sucking Modi [sic]”.

It was reported that 17 soldiers were killed in Kashmir earlier this month.

ITV fired Marc within hours of the vile tweets being posted, with Coronation Street producers being alerted to his posts by the Sunday Mirror.
