Does Perrie Edwards mock Zayn Malik in new Little Mix track?

We were all left very excited by Little Mix’s announcement that they are releasing a brand new track, ‘Shout Out To My Ex’, next Sunday after performing it live on The X Factor, however, the lyrics to the track have already courted a little bit of controversy.

In fact, fans are left convinced that the song is a jibe at Perrie Edwards’ ex, Zayn Malik, after the former One Direction star called off their engagement last year before shacking up with supermodel, Gigi Hadid.

According to The Sun, the new track includes the scathing lyrics: “I hope she gettin’ better sex, Hope she ain’t fakin’ it like I did, babe”, with some wondering if that is a reference to Zayn and Gigi.

It then continues with: “Guess I should say thank you, For the ‘hate yous’ and the tattoos, Oh baby I’m cool by the way, Ain’t sure I loved you anyway”, which many think is a reference to the tattoo that Zayn got of Perrie whilst they were dating.

However, eagle-eyed Mixers took to Twitter to point out that the girls aren’t even listed as the writers of the new track, with the ‘composers’ officially being listed as: “James/ Purcell/ Erfjord/Michelsen”.

Still, it could have been inspired by Perrie’s break-up alongside past break-ups of her bandmates, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwal, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, with Jade previously saying: “‘Shout Out To My Ex’ is a song that we’re sure loads of people can relate to.

“It’s all about moving on after a relationship ends to bigger and better things, and leaving the past where it should be.”

Jesy added: “I think it’s always easier to write about your experiences through music because more people can relate to them anyway.

“It is a lot more mature, this album. There’s a lot of things that have been said that perhaps nobody has heard yet, if you know what I mean.”

Meawhile, Perrie has well and truly moved on from Zayn, with the blonde beauty being pictured kissing Skins actor Luke Pasqualino at Leigh Anne’s 25th birthday party over the weekend.
