Strictly Come Dancing: Daisy Lowe Shares Heartache After The Shock Death Of Her Beloved Grandfather

Last night saw the launch of the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, and although this should have been an exciting moment for all of the celebrity contestants involved, it was incredibly bittersweet for one.

Supermodel Daisy Lowe put on a smile for the launch episode but has revealed that she is secretly battling heartache following the shock death of her beloved grandfather.

82-year-old Eddie Davis was understandably thrilled when his granddaughter told him that she was taking part in the popular show, but he suddenly passed away on Daisy’s first day of Strictly rehearsals after suffering a heart attack.

Now Daisy has revealed that she plans to dance to some of his favourite songs in tribute to him.

Speaking to The Mirror, Daisy explained: “It was all quite sudden. I was talking to him the day before. He was so excited about me doing the show.

"I’m wearing his watch, his shirt and his necklace. I’m going to be dancing for him - I’d quite like to dance to some of his favourite songs, too.

"I’m just trying to be with my family whenever I have time off.”

Daisy also revealed that her fellow Strictly contestant, Louise Redknapp, had been comforting her, adding: “It was pretty tough and thank God I had Lou. She made it all better.”

We’re willing to bet that Daisy’s grandfather could not have been more proud of her - kudos to the star for staying so strong during such a difficult time.
