Katie Price Defends Letting Her Children Join Instagram: 'They're Being Booked For Work'

Last week, Katie Price sparked fresh outrage after she promoted her two young children’s Instagram accounts to her 1.2million followers.

The former glamour model’s decision to allow her 11-year-old son Junior and nine-year-old daughter Princess have public accounts on the photo-sharing website was dogged with controversy, especially when fans noticed there was an email address to the children’s ‘management’ on their pages.

Now Katie has defended herself against the backlash and insisted that the kids need their accounts in order to further their own careers.

We have a feeling that this is not going to go down well.

Speaking on Loose Women earlier today, the mum-of-five explained: “No buts, I don’t care. This is the point I am in no way a bad parent. I’ve got five beautiful, healthy, loving and well-mannered children.

"My kids have been brought up in the industry with their dad and me on TV shows, everyone knows who they are. Now they are being booked themselves for TV shows, modelling jobs and stuff like that. Social media is the future.

"The accounts are open but if you look on it they have contacts for work, they’re getting booked for things, it’s a business thing. They’ve grown up in the industry, their dad had them on his reality show for five years, they’ve been on my shows and they’re on my horse show.”

Katie was also keen to reveal the strict rules that Princess and Junior have to abide by, adding: “I won’t allow them on Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter. All their friends who are nine and 11 are on Instagram, some are open, some are private.

"I’ve been saying, 'No, no, no.’ Look, the show is out with them and I went, 'If you want to be on Instagram, I have your password and you go on it when I’m next to you or you’re not on it at all.’

"Anyone who tries to direct message them I delete it, so I’m in absolute in full control of it.

"But what can I do? They want to be normal, they’re like, 'All our friends are on it.’ Princess wants to speak to her friends. I’m like, 'But you’ve been at school with them all day, what else is there left to say?’

"But I remember I would want to phone my friends when I got back from school talking rubbish because that’s what you do. I will protect them with my heart.”

Junior currently has 17.2k followers on his account and Princess 16.6k.
