USHCC Statement on FCC Ruling

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - June 20, 2016) - The following statement is from USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez:

"In a comment we submitted to the FCC (http://bit.ly/1UdCJnT) along with other diverse Chambers of Commerce in April, we argued that the FCC's goal of saving consumers money could be better met through accelerating the deployment of video apps. This new 'Ditch the Box' proposal lays out a framework for achieving exactly this outcome -- while protecting our members, the diverse programmers creating jobs and content in our communities. Ditching leased boxes will save consumers money, while the use of open standards and a commitment to cross-app search will infuse even more innovation into the market for video devices and services. The FCC should embrace this framework as a better path forward."
