Rumor says Jay and Bey bought this old New Orleans church conversion

When the universe takes away a Brad and Angelina, maybe it gives back a Jay-Z and Beyonce.

That's the word on the street, via Curbed New Orleans. Its writers heard rumors that the musical power couple had purchased a church-turned-ballet-school-turned-home on Harmony Street — the very one that Yahoo Homes wrote about last year — and discovered that the owner is Sugarcane Park LLC. On the Louisiana secretary of state's website, the mailing address provided for Sugarcane Park is for Parkwood Entertainment — Beyonce's management company.

Yahoo Homes further found that Sugarcane Park's address on the Orleans Parish assessor's office is the same Los Angeles address as that of GSO Business Management, whose clients are mainly high-profile musicians. GSO appears to have handled at least a couple of Jay-Z's albums.

And, as Curbed New Orleans points out, Beyonce's sister Solange owns the clothing shop Exodus Goods in the French Quarter, and lives in the neighborhood some of the time.

The property on Harmony Street appears to have changed hands in mid-November. It was listed at about $2.5 million, but the purchase price is undisclosed. We'll update this post if we hear anything more definitive.
