Laverne Cox on Transgender Equality: 'We have a long way to go in terms of public policy'

For the past 24 years, Glamour Magazine has hosted the Women of the Year Awards honoring celebrities, politicians, and athletes, along with other inspiring and empowering women. In an exclusive interview series, Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric goes backstage at Carnegie Hall to speak with some of the honorees of 2014. In this video, “Orange is the New Black" actress Laverne Cox sits down with her presenter, Jodie Foster to speak with Couric.  Cox talks about having Foster direct the Netflix original series for which they both received an Emmy nomination. Cox also discussed the personal responsibility she feels as a transgender woman to educate people about gender identity, and issues relating to the LGBT community.
