A former gallows site, a Civil War field hospital and other haunted homes for sale

One of these homes was built by a man for his beloved wife, whose redhaired apparition may haunt the halls yet. Another is a meticulously preserved monument to the Civil War era, when the property hosted a field hospital -- and where the yard occasionally serves up bullets still marked by gritted teeth. A third is said to have been the site of a 1963 exorcism commissioned by the central character in "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."

It's almost Halloween, and our friends at Zillow have dug up some of the spookiest listings they could find. Curl up on a creaky rocking chair and click here or on an image to take a tour of these haunted properties.
