Jennifer Lawrence calls her new house the 'neighborhood whore'

At the Los Angeles premiere of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I," the ever-quotable actress Jennifer Lawrence spoke briefly but colorfully about her new Beverly Hills house to "Extra" host Mario Lopez.

Mario: What's the first thing you're going to do, Jennifer, when you're done with this tour?

Jennifer: When I'm done with this ... ?

Mario: With the whole press tour. What's the first thing you're going to do?

Jennifer: Ummmm, I just moved into a house.

Mario: Oh, I read about that! Congratulations.

Jennifer: Thank you.

Mario: Is it decorated already, or you gotta do that?

Jennifer: No, I'm in the middle of doing that.

Mario: That'll be fun.

Jennifer: Yeah. It should be. I've got IKEA in there right now, so I'm just kinda, like, 'live-in,' 'cause it's overwhelming.

Mario: Ellen's old house, she told me!

Jennifer: Yeah! It is! It's Ellen's old house, it was like Jessica Simpson's old house -- it's like the neighborhood whore. I was outside and some girl was like "I grew up in this house!" and I was like, "Beat it, kid! God! Everybody's lived in this house."

Well, maybe not everybody, but it's true that previous occupants have included not only Ellen (DeGeneres, that is) and Jessica Simpson but also "Crocodile Dundee" star Paul Hogan, Hollywood heavyweight Rick Yorn (manager of Scarlett Johanssen, Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese, Justin Timberlake; brother of musician Pete Yorn), and media mogul Tom Freston (who helped create MTV and is advising Vice).

The home has been through an awful lot of remodels lately. Jessica Simpson commissioned an overhaul from Shabby Chic doyenne Rachel Ashwell sometime before she sold it late last year to Sydney Holland, the girlfriend of nonagenarian billionaire Sumner Redstone.

Then Holland de-Shabby Chicified it, imposing a "total designer remodel" on the house, in order to flip it this summer. Our slideshow has pictures of pre- and post-Shabby Chic (though not, alas, pictures of what Lawrence has done with it).

Holland paid Simpson $6.4 million, listed it in July for $7.9 million, and sold it to Lawrence for $8.225 million.

Simpson had lived in the house for about a decade before selling it in October 2013. Her daughter, Maxwell, was born in May 2012, and her son, Ace, was born in June 2013.
