Jodie Foster finally sells longtime home where she raised two sons

It took her some time -- more than a year -- and it took a pretty hefty cut -- more than a million dollars off the original asking price -- but Jodie Foster has finally sold her longtime home in the Hollywood Hills.

The actress and director bought the house almost 20 years ago from supermodel Cheryl Tiegs.

In that house on Flicker Way, Foster and her then-partner, Cydney Bernard, began raising their two sons: Charles (Charlie) was born in 1998, and Christopher (Kit) was born in 2001.

The couple split up in 2008. Last year Foster began dating actress and photographer Alexandra Hedison -- and in April of this year, they married.

Meanwhile, in late 2012, Foster bought a house in Beverly Hills, and a few months later, in June 2013, she listed the Hollywood Hills house at $6.4 million.

But it failed to sell, even after a September 2013 price cut to $6 million, so she took it off the market for the holidays. She relisted it in March of this year at $5.75 million, then dropped the price to $5.6 million in July and $5 million a couple of weeks ago.

That seems to have done the trick. The sale just closed for about $5 million, listing agent Kurt Rappaport told the Wall Street Journal.
