Watch Jennifer Lawrence Return to District 12 in the Latest 'Hunger Games' Trailer

Like a phoenix, the Mockingjay will rise from the ashes.

In the latest teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, we find a dazed and weary Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), who’s damaged from the events of Catching Fire, and under pressure to lead the resistance against The Capitol.

We begin with voice-over from Plutarch Heavensbee (the late Philip Seymour Hoffman), who explains to President Coin (newcomer Julianne Moore) that Katniss is their only hope. Coin is skeptical — “The games destroyed her,” Coin insists — but Heavensbee has a plan.

"We need to make this personal for her," he says. "Let her see what they did to District 12."

As Katniss discovers, burned-out buildings and singed memories are all that remains of her Appalachian home — which, given her dedication to the family and friends of her poor district, should be more than enough to propel her into battle once again.

After Catching Fire became the biggest domestic box office hit of 2013 (pulling in a whopping $424 million in the US alone), the third film in the artificially elongated saga promises great excitement and financial gain for Lionsgate, which releases Mockingjay — Part 1 on November 21.

One thing is for sure: It will garner much more excitement and generate far more income than Lawrence’s other upcoming film, the long-lost (and reluctantly found) Serena, which debuted to mixed reviews at the London Film Festival this week.
