Brad Pitt Returns to War in the First 'Fury' Poster

Brad Pitt gives his best stubbly, and battle-scarred look in the first poster for his new World War II drama Fury, coming to theaters this November. In the movie, he plays a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant known as “Wardaddy” who heads up a five-man Sherman tank unit into Germany.

The moody image, featuring ominous grey clouds and a pensive Pitt gazing down from the turret of his tank, stands in contrast to the poster for his last WWII epic, Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, in which a defiant Pitt stood tall — his back literally to the wall — staring straight at the viewer. This new poster is, however, similar to a different Basterds banner which also had its title was scrawled on a weapon (although everything on the Fury poster is spelled correctly).
