Grief-Stricken Tom Jones To Return To Work Next Month

Last month Sir Tom Jones tragically lost his wife of almost sixty years, Linda, following a “short but fierce” battle with cancer, but it has now been reported that the grief-stricken star is determined to return to work next month.

What a trooper.

The 75-year-old is due to appear at London’s Hampton Court Palace Festival on June 8th, the day after his birthday, and refuses to let his fans down.

An insider told The Mirror: “Tom is a consummate professional. It will be emotional. Many of his songs remind him of their love. He’s felt the strain of Linda’s loss immensely but he’s committed to his fans.

"He will want to fulfill his dates throughout summer. He will then have time to reflect.”

Tom and Linda met when he was just twelve-years-old and the two married at the age of sixteen.

The star was forced to cancel tour dates in Asia after his wife was diagnosed with cancer in March and is understandably said to be struggling with his loss.

Last month Tom thanked his legions of dedicated fans for their support in the wake of Linda’s death, writing on his official website: “A heartfelt Thank You to all who sent notes of their sympathy and support to me and my family over the last couple of weeks.

"So many beautiful and meaningful things were said, and reading these genuine and lovely messages has lifted us all. See you soon.”
