Sarah Jessica Parker lists 'refreshed' Village townhouse that she never moved into

"Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker has just relisted her townhouse on East 10th Street in Manhattan's Greenwich Village -- and it's been "newly refreshed," giving us a rare peek at her real estate style. Who knew she was such a pingpong fan?

The actress and her husband, actor Matthew Broderick, are "serial real estate hunters" whose moves are obsessively watched in New York City circles. The couple's main home, a Village townhouse they bought in 2000 for $3 million, is nearby on Charles Street; she also maintains what a spokeswoman referred to as a "work apartment" somewhere in Manhattan, and the family owns property in the Hamptons, too.

She and Broderick bought the 10th Street townhouse in spring 2011 for $19 million, fueling rumors that they were leaving Charles Street for bigger digs. (The 10th Street townhouse is about 7,000 square feet, compared with a reported 4,000-ish on Charles.) Around the same time, they'd reportedly been spotted house-shopping on Central Park West and even -- gasp! -- in Brooklyn.

But they never actually moved into the 10th Street place, according to reports. A little over a year later, in September 2012, they listed it at $25 million, a startling $6 million markup.

Given the fact that they hadn't done any apparent work to the place -- the real estate photos showed exactly the same furnishings as in the 2011 listing, and the 2012 listing made no mention of updates -- it's not altogether surprising that the home didn't sell.

In June of this year, after nearly two years on the market, the townhouse listing was removed.

Now it's back on the market, "newly refreshed" and with a slightly less ambitious $22 million price tag.

Truth be told, the interiors aren't hugely different. Silvery-gray paint on the walls lends a cool feel, and the furnishings are more spare in both line and quantity (pottery on the mantel notwithstanding). Overall, the house has a more modern air, perhaps a bit more playful with touches of pastel and bright color.

Speaking of playful: The refresh also includes a modern white pingpong table in the top-floor family room, which we find especially interesting in light of a Vogue visit to her Charles Street home earlier this year -- where a $4,000 white Bola pingpong table can be seen in her front room at about 1 minute and 33 seconds into this video:
