Woman is a two-time hero after saving a driver from a life-threatening crash, again

Keenia Williams recently saved a driver’s life by pulling her from a wrecked smoking vehicle. That alone would be incredibly heroic. But as reported by KTVU Channel 2, this was the second time the 24-year-old Vallejo, California woman made a life-saving rescue.

Before the recent rescue, the hero was driving home on the freeway at 8:30 a.m. when she suddenly had to slam on her breaks after cars in front of her crashed. Keenia said that a truck collided with a car, causing the car to swing backwards, hit a wall, and flip on its roof. When Ms. Williams saw the driver caught in the smoking overturned vehicle, she immediately thought, “Oh my God. Here we go again!”

Just as she had heroically done after witnessing an accident in 2011, Keenia ran to the injured driver and rescued the bleeding woman. “The door’s kinda jammed. I jam the door wide open and she was upside down. I’m looking, reaching for the seat belt. It’s kinda stuck. Yanked the seat belt down. She fell down a little bit but I was able to get her out,” she explained.

Minutes later California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers were on the scene and praised Keenia for her bravery. "He was like, 'What made you do that?' And I'm like, 'Well, it's not my first time that I saved somebody,'" Keenia exuberantly recalled.

Back on October 19, 2011, the now two-time hero was on the 101 freeway in San Francisco driving her daughter to school when she saw a big rig crash in her rear view mirror. Without hesitation Ms. Williams pulled her car over and instructed her daughter to stay put. The single mom then ran over a stream of leaking fuel to pull the unconscious big rig driver lying near the burning wreck, to safety.

After the 2011 rescue, Keenia was honored by the CHP and the city of San Francisco with its first Good Samaritan Award.

The Christian woman gives credit to her faith and said, "That's my God, my Father upstairs. That’s, he's telling me this must be my calling."
