Highpower Receives First Testing Order for Its New Energy Storage System Products

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and SHENZHEN, CHINA--(Marketwired - May 8, 2014) - Highpower International, Inc. (NASDAQ: HPJ), a developer, manufacturer, and marketer of lithium and nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) rechargeable batteries, and a battery management systems and battery recycling provider, today announced that the Company has received an initial testing order for its 10KWH lithium-based energy storage system (ESS) following the recent rollout of Highpower's first series of commercial ready off-grid energy storage system products.

The 10KWH energy storage system is comprised of four lithium battery modules, a 5KW solar inverter, and a solar controller, coupled with built-in wireless data transmission, remote monitoring, and comprehensive protective features for safety.

"Our new enterprise customer will integrate a solar panel with our 10KWH battery management system, and the whole system will be used in residential stand-alone power source areas," commented Mr. Bryan Bai, Vice President of Sales at Highpower International. "Our system will be tested and modified for further configuration and optimization before mass commercialization.
