Portraits Show How Star Wars Characters Vacation

Even Darth Vader needs a little R&R.

The force was definitely with Kyle Hagey when he created these portraits of Star Wars characters on vacation.

The whimsical photos show the characters enjoying every day activities not typically seen in a galaxy far, far away. The prints are available for purchase on Hagey’ Etsy shop, Kyles Gallery.

Darth Vader is known as a ruthless villain, but he still needs some time to relax and regroup. “Here’s Darth just sipping some bomb ass tea minding his own business,” Hagey wrote in the photo description. “Maybe he’s plotting some evil deeds.”

In the case of Yoda, he’s pictured on a flowery balcony, proudly flipping the bird. We like to imagine he’s channeling his inner Diane Lane while relaxing Under the Tuscan Sun.

In this photo, the hills are alive with…Stormtroopers! This Hagey original shows the hard working soldiers partaking in a relaxing bike ride through what looks like a meadow in Austria. “Good soldiers require good training,” wrote Hagey. “A tandem bike provides exercise, team building skills, and voluptuous calf muscles.”

But our favorite photo shows a battle droid getting its groove back in a tropical destination.  Constantly going into battle can create a lot of stress, but it’s nothing a little sunset and Rosé can’t fix. “I guess it’s a boozed up droid enjoying his (or her) day off from shooting stuff,” Hagey wrote.

Hagey truly gave us a gift, but it leaves us wanting more. What would Princess Leia or Jabba the Hutt do on vacation?
