South Carolina’s Connor Shaw caught a touchdown pass (GIF)

Connor Shaw now has a receiving touchdown to add to his South Carolina totals.

The senior quarterback caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from wide receiver Bruce Ellington in the second quarter of the Capital One Bowl against Wisconsin on Wednesday.

Shaw handed the ball off on a running play that was heading to the left and hung around for a second before leaking to the corner of the end zone as Ellington took a pitch and came back to the right. Ellington then found Shaw in the end zone before Wisconsin defenders converged on him. The Badgers led 14-13 at halftime.

The Gamecocks tried to continue the trickeration after that play by attempting a two-point conversion off a fake extra point. It did not work.

Through his South Carolina career, Shaw threw for 54 touchdowns and rushed for 21. That includes a touchdown strike that Shaw threw to Ellington, the point guard for the South Carolina basketball team, in the first quarter on Wednesday.
