Grizzlies forward Quincy Pondexter expected to miss rest of season

Memphis forward Quincy Pondexter is expected to miss the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his right foot, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Grizzlies confirmed Monday that an MRI revealed that he had suffered the stress fracture in Saturday night's game, and the franchise declared him out "indefinitely."

Nevertheless, the Grizzlies and Pondexter are resigned to the fact that he is likely lost for the season, league sources said.

Memphis is already down center Marc Gasol (MCL sprain) and guard Tony Allen (hip bruise).

Pondexter, 25, has averaged 6.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 18 minutes a game this season. He was injured in the first half of Saturday's loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Memphis is bringing in several guards for workouts on Monday, including Kendall Marshall and Seth Curry out of the NBA Development League and free agents Reggie Williams and Darius Morris, sources told Yahoo Sports.
