Watch the New Trailer for Michael Moore's 'Where to Invade Next'

Michael Moore is on a mission yet again in his forthcoming documentary, Where to Invade Next. But this time he’s propagating joy instead of appraising corruption (though, he still finds his own special way of indirectly condemning America and its polarizing politics.)

In the film, Moore tours the globe focusing in on certain policies, laws, and cultural practices that are functioning so great for citizens abroad, that, he suggests, they should be immediately appropriated by the United States. Yes, he’s positioned himself as the only one who can save America. The great ideas from overseas he observes include quality culinary experiences for school children, as stolen from the French; a month (or more) vacation time, like the way the Italians do it; and more.

Against the backdrop of his more darkly pressing films, including Farhenheit 911 and his Oscar-winning Bowling for Columbine, Where to Invade Next stands apart as Moore’s most optimistic work to date. Recently graduating to the Oscar documentary short list, the film opens in theaters Dec. 23.
