Jean-Claude Van Damme is looking to split -- and make a Damme nice profit

Movie/martial arts star Jean-Claude Van Damme is looking to make a Damme nice profit on the sale of his home.
Van Damme, aka "The Muscles From Brussels," has listed his three-story home on the Grand Canal in Los Angeles' Marina del Rey area for $9,999,000. He paid $6 million for the newly built 6-bedroom, 11-bathroom home in 2012 — which, coincidentally, is the same year he co-starred alongside Sylvester Stallone in "The Expendables 2."

Our friends at the real estate site Curbed L.A. deem his 7,600-square-foot home "totally bonkers" (saying, among other things: "Also from the listing we learn that JCVD enjoys religious art and is apparently always watching 'Avatar'"). We wouldn't go that far, but we will note that the home's more prominent features include a wall sculpture of a crucified Jesus, a Buddha statue watching over the dining room, a bust presiding over a soaking tub (next to a fireplace), and a wine cellar with an elaborate trompe l'oeil wall mural that looks as if wine casks stretch out into the indefinable distance.
There's also an elevator, in case the action hero just can't face dragging himself up two flights of stairs.
Van Damme's asking price is two-thirds more than he paid for the home just three years ago — and it's more than twice the ask for any other home in the ZIP code except for one directly on the sand.
Van Damme's listing was first reported by the Los Angeles Times. Yahoo Homes was able to confirm its connection to him through property records.
