Tyra Banks Shares First Photo Of Newborn Son

We could not have been happier for Tyra Banks when she revealed last month that she and her partner Erik Asla had welcomed a “miracle baby boy” via surrogate mother.

Revealing that they’d called their little one York, Tyra and Erik understandably kept their heads down for a few weeks as they fully embraced parenthood.

However, the America’s Next Top Model host decided to give her fans a little Valentine’s Day treat last night, taking to her Instagram account to share the first photo of her bundle of joy.

Cradling baby York in her arms, Tyra wrote: “This is the Happiest Valentine’s Day of my life. York, Daddy @erikasla and I send you so much love. [sic]”

Isn’t he a cutie, eh?

Tyra also used Instagram to reveal that she had welcomed a son, previously sharing a photo of a knitted baby’s hat alongside the caption: “The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here. He’s got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik’s mouth and chin.

"As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world. [sic]”

The 42-year-old had previously opened up about her struggle to conceive, admitting to enduring “traumatic” fertility treatment in the past.

She explained at the time: “When I turned 40, the one thing I was not happy about is that I did not have kids. I’m like, ‘Damn, the clock is ticking!’ When you’re like, 'OK, I’m just going to do it,’ then it’s not so easy as you get older.

"I’ve had some not happy moments with [IVF], very traumatic moments. It’s difficult as you get older. It’s not something that can just happen.”

We are so happy that Tyra and Erik finally have the baby that they so desperately longed for - congratulations once again to the adorable little family.
