The Biggest Names In Music Rally Behind Kesha After She Loses Legal Battle

Last week Kesha made headlines when she lost a legal battle against producer Dr. Luke, real name Lukasz Gottwald, and Sony Records in which she sought permission to void her contract and allow her to work with other labels.

The pop star claimed her producer forced her to take drugs and drink alcohol so he could abuse her sexually when she was under the influence.

The judge in the case ruled that she was legally obliged to continue her contract with Sony Music and produce five more albums, thus maintaining her association with her alleged abuser.

Footage of the star breaking down in court was broadcast worldwide, and fans and celebrities rallied behind the 28-year-old, with the hashtag #FreeKesha quickly gaining traction.

Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Lorde and Kelly Clarkson were among the stars to throw their support behind the singer.

Taylor Swift also pledged $US250,000 to "help with any of her financial needs during this trying time".

Gottwald's legal team have since accused Kesha of conducting a "trial by Twitter, using a vicious smear campaign to ruin his reputation".

The Producer has now broken his silence, taking to Twitter to defend himself.

"I didn't rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister," he tweeted.
