Watch as New 'Daily Show' Host Trevor Noah Tries Out the Desk

Comedy Central has announced the premiere date for the new host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah. The South African comedian will take over for Jon Stewart — whose last show is on Aug. 6 — on Monday, Sept. 28. The network announced the premiere via Twitter, along with the above video, which features Noah trying out his new desk — at least, until a disapproving Stewart appears and scares him away.

The 31-year-old Noah was announced as the new Daily Show host in March, and soon after that the comedian found himself at the center of controversy over older tweets that many criticized as sexist and anti-Semitic. Still, Stewart publicly stood by his successor, as did comedian Patton Oswalt in a series of 53 tweets.

The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central.
