Katie Price Slams The McCanns As She Agrees They Were 'Insane' To Leave Madeleine

At the weekend, Kate and Gerry McCann slammed Sharon Osbourne for saying that they were “insane” to leave three children aged three and under alone in a Portugal hotel room whilst they went out to dinner.

The couple’s three-year-old daughter Madeleine tragically went missing after being left alone back in 2007, sparking an international hunt for the little girl.

Now Katie Price has waded into the situation, defending Sharon’s comments and insisting that Kate and Gerry were in the wrong to leave the tots, winning the praise of a majority of viewers.

Speaking on Loose Women, the mum-of-five said: “Why in your right mind would you leave your kids in a room?

"It doesn’t matter who you are, you don’t leave your children.

"I’m on Sharon’s side. If you are on holiday, your kids sleep in buggies, why in your right mind would you leave your kids in a room?

"I don’t care if it is a safe place or if you can see them or not.”

She went on to add that the McCanns: “shouldn’t have gone on holiday if they wanted to leave them in a room.”

The star usually courts controversy with her Loose Women appearances but her latest comments were massively supported on Twitter, with many agreeing.

One wrote: “Fair play to what Katie Price had the balls to say today about the McCanns. As a mum, I don’t know how others can be so careless.”

Another added: “Well done @kisskatieprice couldn’t have said it better myself.”

Last week Sharon criticized the McCanns on her US chat show The Talk, ranting in a clear attack on the couple: “I will tell you a very quick story. There was a husband and wife on holiday in Portugal.

"They left their baby in the room sleeping, sleeping while they went to dinner in the restaurant.

"While they were in the resort their baby was taken. And it is like, ‘Oh but we can see everything that is going on’ and it is, like, insane.”

A spokesperson for the couple quickly blasted Sharon’s claims.
