'Breaking Bad' Creator Wants Fans to Stop Throwing Pizzas on Walter White's House

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan has a message for fans looking to re-create an iconic scene from the AMC drama: Knock it off with the cheesy stunt.

On a podcast for the Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul on Tuesday, Gilligan called out fans who have desecrated the Albuquerque house that served as Walter White’s residence on the show by reenacting a certain scene.

During the scene in question, White (Bryan Cranston) attempts to reunite with his wife Skyler White, toting a pizza as a substitute for an olive branch. After Skyler rebuffs him, Walter angrily tosses the pie onto the roof.

According to Gilligan, a number of people have replicated the feat at the Albuquerque residence, much to the chagrin of the couple who lives there, who Gilligan calls the “two nicest people in the world, and they deserve to be treated well.”

“Let me tell ya, there is nothing original or funny or cool about throwing a pizza on this lady’s roof,” Gilligan said, his anger rising like a pizza crust in the oven. “It’s just not funny. It’s been done before. You are not the first.”

“So uncool,” Gilligan added. “Please stop.”

Actor Jonathan Banks, who reprises his Bad role Mike Ehrmantraut on Better Call Saul, added, “And if I catch you doing it, I will hunt you down.” (Anyone who’s seen Banks in action as Ehrmantraut in action knows that this is not a threat to be taken lightly.)

Gilligan went on to suggest that people might want to take down the license plate number of anyone seen attempting the pizza toss at the home.

He also offered his assessment of the pie-hurling so-called fans: “We love our fans. I don’t love those fans. I don’t even consider them fans; I consider them jagoffs.”
