Lady Gaga: 'Kesha Is Being Very Publicly Shamed'

Ever since poor Kesha lost her court case to be freed from her Sony record contract after accusing producer Dr. Luke of raping and emotionally abusing her a flock of celebs have rallied around to show their support.

However, no star has been as public with their support for the singer than Lady Gaga, who has spoken out time and again on Kesha’s behalf.

Now Gaga has said that her pal is being “publicly shamed” for speaking out about the sinister side of the music industry and called for change.

The singer shared: “I think that people should just know that there’s so much more than what meets the eye in a case like that.

"I feel like she’s being very publicly shamed for something that happens in the music industry all the time, to women and men. I just want to stand by her side because I can’t watch another woman that went through what I’ve been through suffer.”

She went on to add to Carson Daly on 97.1 AMP Radio that the high-profile celebs who have come forward to showcase their support won’t rest until justice is served, explaining: “I won’t put words in their mouths, but I think it is probably as scary for them as it is for me to see so much shaming happen to females in the business that are so talented because they’re just not in as much of a position of power as the people who are speaking up against them.

"We’re going to shake the tree until that leaf that has Kesha on it falls. I care about her. In any other business, if you were to report that anything happened to you to the human resources department, it would be dealt with.

"But we don’t have a human resources department. We don’t have a union as artists. We’re just fighting for ourselves. If we don’t stick together, our voices just won’t be heard.”

Gaga was critically acclaimed for her performance of ‘Til It Happens To You’ at the Oscars earlier this month, with the star being joined on stage by fifty survivors of rape and sexual assault.
