A 17-year-old who lost control of his car is lucky to be alive after it came to rest on a railing above a river, police in New Hampshire say.11

The driver, Colin Malone of Nashua, N.H., was traveling on the Hudson Connector in Nashua at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday when his Honda Accord struck a snow embankment, flew through the air and came to rest on the railing of the Sagamore Bridge. The rear part of the vehicle was suspended in the air above the Merrimack River.

Malone escaped the crash without injury, New Hampshire State Police said, but was issued a citation for failing “to keep his vehicle within the roadway markings.”

The New Hampshire Trooper’s Association posted photos of the teetering wreck on its Facebook page — which has become something of a hub for bad-driver shaming.

Last month, the group shared a photo of the scene of a one-vehicle crash in which a car wound up inverted in the snow on the side of the road.

The driver in that crash, a 37-year-old woman, was able to extricate herself from the car before police arrived. The woman, whose name was not released, told authorities she did not know how she had lost control of the car.

The trooper’s association added the caption, “Operating too fast for the conditions?
