Kermit Gets Nude, Fozzie Gets Waxed in New Posters for ABC's 'The Muppets'

It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights: The Muppets are coming back to TV this fall with ABC’s new sitcom The Muppets — and we have an exclusive first look at 5 new posters of your favorite felt-covered friends.

First, a group shot that shows just how Hollywood the gang has become, with everyone attached to their smartphones:

There’s Kermit the Frog, defying network TV decency standards by going pantless! Oh, wait… he’s usually pantless, isn’t he?

Here’s Miss Piggy, who’s really right at home in the selfie age:

Fozzie Bear is buying into the whole L.A. scene; he’s even trying a bit of manscaping. (Bearscaping?) Our sympathies to the poor body waxer who got stuck working on him.

And Gonzo is looking the part of a Hollywood screenwriter, chatting on his phone while clutching a script and a cup of Starbucks:

In case you missed our report from Comic-Con, The Muppets will go behind the scenes of a late-night talk show hosted by Miss Piggy, with Kermit as her executive producer, Fozzie as her sidekick, and Gonzo as her head writer. It’s a more adult take on the Muppets, with The Office-style mockumentary cut-aways, but still packed with the witty pop-culture references we’ve come to expect from Kermit and the gang. And it’s pants-optional, of course.

The Muppets premieres Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
