UCF athlete director Todd Stansbury is headed to Oregon State to take the same position, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Stansbury, who has been at UCF since March 2012, spent nine years as Oregon State’s executive associate athletic director from 2003-2012.

Under Stansbury’s watch, UCF transitioned from Conference USA to the American Athletic Conference, winning the league’s first-ever championship in football in 2013. That 12-1 season was capped off by a win over Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl.

UCF women’s soccer and softball teams also won AAC titles.

“Todd has obviously done a lot of good things here,” UCF head coach George O’Leary told the Sentinel, “but he’s going back to where he came from and Oregon State is a Power 5 school. I can certainly see the enticement of him wanting to take the job.”

At Oregon State, Stansbury is set to replace Bob De Carolis, who announced in May that he was stepping down after 13 years. De Carolis’s final day at Oregon State is June 30.

In addition to his tenure at UCF, Stansbury also was the athletic director at East Tennessee State from 2000 to 2003, the associate athletic director at Houston from 1997 to 2000 and rose to assistant athletic director for academics at Georgia Tech, his alma mater.
