October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the travel industry is taking it to new heights.

To kick things off, Delta Airlines launched a survivor flight on Tuesday, flying a Boeing 767-400 decked out in pink from Atlanta to New York City. This is the 10th annual survivor flight, which honors more than 140 employee’s who have survived breast cancer.

In Atlanta, survivors were greeted with live music and water canon salutes before boarding the pink plane. Once they arrived in New York, the passengers were treated to an overnight stay and dinner. This trip is part of Delta’s month-long awareness campaign designed to generate awareness and raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

In addition to the survivor flight, Delta employees will also wear pink uniforms and sell pink products — including pink lemonade and pink headsets — on flights, and in Delta Sky Clubs during October.

Delta isn’t the only travel company shining a light on breast cancer awareness. Here are some other businesses in the travel industry leading the charge.

American Airlines

This month, American Airlines is encouraging nearly 100,000 employees to Be Pink. Throughout the month, American and US Airways employees will wear uniforms with pink accessories, serve customers Be Pink-branded food and drink, and participate in local walks to support the fight against breast cancer. In addition, a $25 donation to American’s Miles for the Cure program will earn AAdvantage members 20 bonus miles for each dollar contributed, instead of 10.

For the fourth consecutive year, Peninsula Hotels has launched its Peninsula in Pink campaign at all 10 hotels. During October, the chain will feature a French-inspired afternoon tea, pink pastries, specialty cocktails, and an Oscar de la Renta amenity kit as a way to raise awareness. Even more, guests can get pampered in pink. The Peninsula spa is featuring things like the “Pretty in Pink” manicure, as well as pink hair treatments, with a portion of the sales benefiting the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation and Bright Pink.

Harrah’s Resort Southern California, San Diego

On October 25, Harrah’s Resort in San Diego will host its second annual Battle of the Bras poker tournament. As a part of the month-long initiative, the resort will raise money for the American Cancer Society. A $50 buy-in ($25 prize pool plus $25 tax-deductible donation) receives $10,000 in non-negotiable tournament chips. If gambling isn’t your thing, participants can also enjoy celebrity meet and greets, and a silent auction.

Even Hooters is joining the fight against breast cancer. The chain, which is known for its voluptuous waitresses, is calling on America to #SupportOurHooters. During October, $1 from each 2015 Hooters Calendar sold will go toward the V Foundation. Hooters will also be selling pink bracelets, pink drinks, and giving patrons the opportunity to ‘pink up’ their check by adding a donation to their final bill.
