Oct. 8: Happy birthday to Matt Damon, age 43 today

Designed by Grant Kirkpatrick and , the Zen-inspired mansion has seven bedrooms, 35-foot-high mahogany vaulted ceilings, "disappearing walls of glass," "three levels connected by an open atrium and a floating stairway," and two maid's rooms in its 9,000 square feet. The half-acre grounds include a koi pond and "spa pavilion." (The photos are from the listing, which were taken before he bought the home.)
The house, where Damon lives with his wife and daughters, is just down the street from Ben Affleck, his childhood friend, who has three children with wife Jennifer Garner. Damon recently listed his Miami home for $20 million.
P.S. Today is also Chevy Chase's birthday -- he's 70 -- and Paul Hogan's birthday -- he's 74. Chevy Chase was recently renting out homes on his vacation property in Mount Kisco, New York, and Paul Hogan recently flipped his Malibu home, persuading Chris Hemsworth to pay $1 million more than Hogan paid just a year earlier.
