Throwback Thursday: Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez on ‘Barney’
Then: Long before Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez spent their time with boy banders and Justin Bieber, they palled around with a big purple dinosaur. In 2002, the starlets met and became friends during the audition process to become one of the gang on "Barney & Friends." They were both hired for the kiddie show and later ended up working on sitcoms at the Disney Channel, before emerging as pop stars.
Now: At 20, both ladies have since shed their squeaky-clean images -- Lovato went to rehab and Gomez starred in the racy movie "Spring Breakers" -- but they've remained friends. The girls took to Twitter last month to show mutual admiration for each other's new tunes. "Umm.. obsessed with Come & Get It--@selenagomez. So happy for you lady. #LiterallyOnRepeat!!!" Lovato gushed. Gomez responded with a smiley face and a screengrab of her friend's new song "Heart Attack," from Lovato's new album, "Demi," which hits stores Tuesday.
