Is Kelly Clarkson Eloping Because She’s Pregnant?
The news that Kelly Clarkson and her fiancé, Brandon Blackstock, scrapped their plans for a big wedding in favor of a small elopement sparked a firestorm of rumors that the singer was, in fact, already pregnant.
And it's not so hard to understand why people might come to that conclusion. Clarkson and Blackstock have been together since early 2012 and have been engaged since December of that same year. In other words, these are two adults who took their time before deciding to take the plunge. What's more, Blackstock has two children from a previous marriage, ages 12 and 6, and Kelly hasn't been shy about sharing how much she's enjoying being a step-mom.
To top it all off, the "Stronger" singer recently opened up to Ryan Seacrest about how she was feeling as her lavish nuptials (originally slated for October) approached, and her sentiments were a bit surprising. "It's just two months away," she revealed before adding, "I'm so over it." That sounds like a bride with other things on her mind.
Not so fast, Clarkson fans. While many would be thrilled to learn this was true, the 31-year-old star has confirmed that it is not. On August 22, Kelly tweeted a message that left little room for interpretation.
"FYI ....Brandon & I are getting married & no I am not pregnant. We are eloping for one reason only. We both want an intimate ceremony," she explained.
Since the wedding plans have done a virtual 180, we'll have to wait and see what actually goes down, but it certainly seems like one fact is clear: Kelly will be tying the knot before she gets knocked up … unless something even more unexpected happens.
