A Zombie Marriage Proposal: The Best or Worst Idea Ever?

This wedding season, rose petals are out, rotting flesh is in.

On Friday, Arizona resident Nick Showman proposed to his girlfriend, Steph Knolland, inside the 13th Floor Haunted House in Phoenix, surrounded by bloodthirsty zombies. Despite concerns that she would see “clowns or too many clowns,” she allowed Showman to lead her through the zombie pit. As the couple passed over a bridge, Showman stopped running. “I was like, 'What are you doing? There are zombies, let’s go!'" Knolland later told CNN.

A zombie suddenly swung by and dropped a foam hand, which contained the ring. “Will you take my hand in marriage?” Showman asked Knolland, dropping to one knee. She looked terrified, but said yes.

Showman and Knolland didn't respond to Yahoo Shine's emails for comment and not much else is known about the zombie-loving pair. However, they're not the only couple that mixes romance with horror. In September, Canadian couple Harlon Gunthrie and Holly Young staged a zombie-themed engagement shoot in a Toronto conservation center, whereby they were “attacked” by their priest and wedding party, leaving the pair “bloody” and battered. That same month, Indiana couple Abby Riggs and Thomas Ehmer walked down the aisle dressed as zombies, wearing fake blood, tattered wedding attire, and disheveled hair. “I was like, ‘You have to be kidding?’” Ehmer's mother told the Indy Star, when asked for her reaction.

Say what you will, but these couples have the “till death do us part” thing down pat.
