Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears Respond to Jay-Z’s Twitter Shout-Outs

By Laura Ferreiro

It's not everyday that Jay-Z connects with his fans one-on-one, but on Monday the rap superstar took to Twitter to answer questions and interact with fans, friends, and fellow celebs.

While the rapper born Shawn Carter waxed poetic about everything from his favorite cereal (Cap'n Crunch) to how he finds peace (through "acceptance"), he also gave shout-outs to Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus. Not surprisingly, the pop divas took notice, and chimed in on the conversation.

When someone asked Jay-Z whether twerking — the booty-shaking dance Cyrus does in her "We Can't Stop" video — should replace the electric slide at weddings, he responded "Personally???YES.. Miley is a GOD." Odds are good that there was a touch of sarcasm in his response, given that he mocks Cyrus for twerking in his new tune "Somewhere in America."

An avid Twitter user and always outspoken, Cyrus quickly piped up, "Call it what you want. But I don't see Mr. Carter shoutin any of you bitches out. #twerkmileytwerk ✌"

She added, "Exactly right. I am an old worlds worst nightmare. #outwiththeold #inwiththenewnew."

Hova also gave his two cents about Spears and sent some love her way when a fan asked him what his favorite Britney Spears song was. He responded, "Toxic.. jamming my G." When Spears caught wind of it, she was pleasantly surprised. "You learn something every day!" she Tweeted. "Never knew @S_C_ was a fan of Toxic! That's Big Pimpin ;)"

Jay-Z, who rarely uses Twitter, was doing some social media face time surrounding the release of his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.
