Defensive back Williams, and linebackers Hayes and Pettway are facing robbery charges after an on-campus attack that involved two students in separate incidents. One of the students was beaten unconscious. Calloway, an H-back, was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card. Williams, Hayes and Pettway were barred from campus while the Student Judicial Board investigated the incidents. An Alabama spokesperson did not say whether the four were expelled or left on their own.

Williams confessed to assaulting and robbing a student and said Pettway and Hayes watched as he robbed another one about an hour later.

Saban also announced that little-used wide receivers Danny Woodson Jr. and Marvin Shinn would not participate in spring practices. Woodson is suspended due to a violation of team rules and Shinn has “opted” out of spring workouts and conditioning. The two players combined for seven receptions in 2012.
