Vera Wang knocking off Kim Kardashian’s dress for David’s Bridal
Kim Kardashian's wedding was incredibly over-the-top: a $2 million engagement ring, three designer wedding dresses, and a $10 million wedding tab. But it's no biggie. Kardashian and her new hubby Kris Humphries made an estimated $18 million off of their big day! And now Vera Wang, who outfitted the bride, is looking to cash in as well by replicating two of Kardashian's wedding dresses for a much lower price and including them in her next Vera Wang for David's Bridal collection.
Both the tulle ballgown and the mermaid gown will be available for under $1,600 each at David's Bridal in February 2012. We're sure that's an itty bitty fraction of the price Kardashian paid for hers. E! News got the inside scoop at the latest David's Bridal photo shoot. Wang told E! News the two dresses are not exact replicas of Kardashian's gowns, but "will certainly capture that sense of old-fashioned romance" of the originals. Hmm, they look pretty similar to us!
Brides everywhere were desperate to get their hands on Kate Middleton wedding dress lookalikes after the royal wedding, but will ladies be scooping up Kardashian dress knockoffs? Hey, at least they're still designed by Vera Wang!
