Fashion Week dispatch: Cynthia Rowley

Cynthia Rowley explains her collection-
In two words: "Scary pretty." Rowley describes the garments as mysterious. "It's like the girl ran away from home and got wet in the rain and the print of her dress is running," says says. "We didn't set the prints, we hand watercolor dipped them."

Yesterday, I caught up with designer Cynthia Rowley before her show at Gotham Hall for a sneak preview of her line before it hit the runway. While Rowley's clothing is typically characterized by vibrant colors, wispy fabrics and carefree spirit, the designer put an edgy, almost creepy spin on her garments this season. Read on for more on her inspiration and a behind-the-scenes look at the Cynthia Rowley spring 2010 collection.
